You say that someone had reguarded this as not fair and that we may be going back to the old system of #1 not picking #2...
If my memory serves me correctly, 2000 ("the old way") #1 COULD pick #2. As unfair as this may be, that's life. I remember VCU in 2000 where this situation came or #1 picking #2 and a powerhouse was formed, you just do your best to beat them...
I'm still curious to a final response as well.
