I surfed the
RT forums while the Oscars were on. Alot of anti-LOTR:ROTK posters were online booing and hissing every second, saying it was the worst Oscar show they had ever seen and that the Oscar should have gone to Lost in Translation and such.
The Oscars were rewarding the whole series and nit just ROTK and LiT is too small and abstract a film for the Oscars to feel really comfortable about rewarding. They love epics.
The Oscars isn't always about the best picture winning (Titanic best picture in 1997? Seroiusly?) it's about the film that best suits their style of film. It's more political than artistic.
I went to bed very very pleased last night. Justice was served.
