Leave it to dave to design a robot contest with donuts in it..
Two sets of "donuts." You have to sort them into two two tubs on each side. The "donuts" with the IR beacons in them are label "Krispy Kremes" while the ones without IR beacon are "Any Other". They all look the same from the outside but it is what is inside that makes all the difference. Putting the wrong "donut" in the wrong tub will result in negative points while you will be given positive points for correct tub. In the middle there will be a giant donut ten feet in the air. You can choose to hang from it for 25 points. Also, you can instead choose to be the "donut hole" by sitting in the middle of the 10 ft high donut. The "donut hole" will gain an additional 50 pts.
The scoring will go as following:
Each team will be given a "free dozen Krispy Kreme certificate" for each baker dozen pts they score. The winning will gain an additional "certificates" for each half dozen "donuts" their opponent correctly label.
Seeding will go as following:
The team that presents the most certificate at the end of qualifying will be sent home. Turn down free Krispy Kremes, no way. The team with the greatest difference of "certificates" won minus "certificates" presented will be #1 seed and seeding will follow in this order.
Extend the autonomous period from 15 seconds to a minute and wear your hair nets.
I present this as my official 2005 game. It will be called FIRST Frenzy: Kreme of the Krop.
