As one of the sponsors of the Detroit Regional, U.S. Army Tank-Automotive Research Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) is eager to do all we can to make the event a huge success.
On practice day in Detroit, 18-March, we will water cut parts for the participants.
Bring your drawings to our on-site Mobile Parts Hospital, or to the PICO trailer, where they’ll hand them over to us when water cutting is the fastest way to get the job done.
We have at our disposal a total of eighteen 4x12 sheets of 5083, H-131 aluminum in thickness: 0.09, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 1-1/2, and 2 inch.
Plan ahead because it will be “First Come – First Served”, and only for that one day.
Try, if you can, to produce a dxf (Version 12) line drawing of the part(s). Anything you’d model as an extruded line drawing is ideally manufactured via water cutting.
