Here's what I remember from the Pittsburgh regional (sorry it isn't more complete):

Team 808 was the #1 seed after the qualifying rounds, and wound up picking team 48 (#2 seed) for their partner. This alliance lost in the semi-finals to the 7th alliance (team 1030, I don't remember the other two robots), who ended up beating the alliance of teams 211/1114/578.

I don't remember who won the chairman's award, but we won the Engineering Inspiration Award.

In my opinion, the gameplay at the Pittsburgh regional was completely about hanging on the bar. If you could get to the bar before everyone else and take up space, the other teams were at a serious disadvantage. Team 1030 won the competition mainly because they could grab the bar from the first platform quickly, keeping them from having to fight to get on the second platform. In their semifinals matches, they were able to hang on the bar despite team 48's numerous attempts to ram them.
