Re: Your testing beacons vs. competition beacons

One possibilty that comes to mind is that the cable got connected backwards. That would simply reverse the ground and signal pins, so the beacon could still transmit, however, since the sink ablitly of the signal pin isn't very high, it would consideralbly reduce the range of the IR signal.
