I think there have been incidents mainly in Orlando of other schools in the county (and not robotics teams), getting injured in pools or whatnot. Broward County's so afriad of getting sued, that pretty much anytime there is a CHANCE of liability and injury, it's not allowed.

Prime example: We were testing out the new golf cart that our magnet coordinator bought on campus. Administration found out and almost had a heartattack, took the keys, and pretty much claimed the cart, yelling about the liability of a student driving a golf cart. Now we can't even take it up to competition. Keep in mind, those of us driving all have driver licenses. It's crazy around here.

ewww, that's not good. How long before these control freaks try to micromanage the robotics team because they're afraid of you kids getting hurt building the thing? I'd be worried.
