Thumbs up

Hey guys, i'm John DiBiasi from Team 230. I never really posted before but I wanted to say that the LI regional was alot of fun and everyone did really well.

Scouting was really key during the practice rounds. We were out watching everyone. Unfortunately we didn't finish the modifications to our robot to get any of ours in on thursday. Our first match out our robot shot out of the starting block and for a second I wasn't sure if the wings were going to go down in time. We snagged the goals pretty well and I'm sure we surprised one or two other people watching.

I forget who it was exactly that mentioned WPI, but I got accepted there too. In fact if you were at the regional you most likely saw me at one point or another (I had my WPI hat on and I am an operator for 230 so i was up on the field). Right now I'm most likely going to be attending WPI in the fall. I'm waiting to hear back from RPI (someone else mentioned them). A member on our team is interested in going there. From what she told me, Renssalaer actually has a joint FIRST team with a local high school or another college. As for Cornell. They don't have FIRST robotics team, but they compete in this other robotics competition. I applied early decision to Cornell Univ. College of Engineering and got rejected :*( I have alot of info from them in my room and a page or two on that other robotics thing.

Hehe, just to keep a long post going. We were up a little after 311 fried their motors there and i was like "Oh man, may those motors R.I.P." At one point i could still smell it and thought we might have burned out our Fisher-Price cause I started to reek at one point earlier in the day when the pullysystem on the wings got jammed. It was alot a fun. We really thought we could go all the way, but we lucked out.

Anyhow, thanks again for a great competition. We're off to the UTC New England Regional down the street in New Haven, CT next. Hope to see a few of you there.
