Re: Championship Event 2004 - Rate your hotels!!

Name of your hotel and Location (Atlanta, Suburb??)
Westin Peachtree Plaza, Atlanta Georgia
Price per room: If known.
Not sure, we had 4 people in our room though to keep costs down,
Ammenities: Details - Internet Access (charged for or free?), Breakfast?
Pool which I heard was salty, Paid internet access $15 for 24 hours (not worth it for the time I was in the hotel) Starbucks in the lobby.
Suprise Charges: If any.
None that I know of, except for high phone bill for a mentor who called home
Transportation to and from the Georgia Dome - Bus route, MARTA system, walk?
Took the MARTA sytem - $11.00 for a five day unliminted pass for each person, definately worth it. Had to transfer at Five Points Station, but was easy to navigate (for some)
Walked one day, and was 15 minutes from lobby to pits.. Not to shabby.
Relative closeness to food, and restaurants?
Hard Rock Cafe, McDonalds, and Hooters were right across the street. Restaurant on top of hotel - I'm guessing that was expensive though since it was a rotating Restaurant. Starbucks in the lobby.
Any additional Comments?
Very Nice place, easy to spot from anywhere in the city cause of it's unique cylindrical shape.
Elevators were a kind of pain, cause it was so tall, two sets of elevators, one set for the top floors, and one set for the bottom floors.
No way to take stairs up to 29th floor to bypass elevators if you felt up to it.
Excellent views from every room cause of the room layout for the cylindrical shaped hotel.
Would you reccomend this hotel for FIRST teams next year?
Yes, just get the MARTA pass too. Unless you feel up to a 15 minute walk everyday.
Would you stay at the same hotel Next year?
Yes and No. I like it, so yes. But I want to see what the other hotels in the area are like.
And just for fun, What floor did you stay on?
29th Floor
