No one really knows how to define it and, deep, deep down, it
is useless...
But here's what I like about it:
a) There are communities about
everything and I get a good laugh from some of them
b) It has something to do with the six (or seven - some will argue) degrees of separation theory. Whenever possible, the system will show you how "far" you are from someone. It's pretty cool seeing two completely different friends of yours (who you never thought possible were connected in some way) actually knowing each other, sometimes for a longer time than you did!
c) There's a FIRST Robotics Competition community - you can't dislike something with FIRST in it!
d) You can spend an incredibly long time surfing orkut and reading communities, searching for friends and all while you have lots of exams and papers to hand in without actually noticing it - oh wait, that's bad!
There you go, now make an informed decision!
