I secretly hope that fundraising is a full time effort for all teams, whether they have big industrial corporate sponsors (NASA, Delphi, GM) or not.

I think that fundraising is a key ingredient in a team's development and growth, and hope that the teams with large corporate sponsorships are not just "handed everything on a silver platter" so to speak.

I know personally with our team, we have a wonderful main sponsor that has been with us for all 6 years of the teams existence, and they help out in any way they can, and we are greatful.
But I think that having the team members having to go through the process of applying for grants, and writing to new sponsors and even holding fundraising events like car washes, and ziti dinners is key to the team's togetherness and it's success.

But.. this topic is for another post all together.
