Thumbs up

YES - I completely agree. Our team was at Philadelphia for FIRST and at Battlebots IQ as well. We were rookies at both. Our season is now over but what a great time we had. I agree that most of the bots at BBIQ were student built. Ours certainly was. They were also student repaired. Our team learned first hand how important it is to build something that is rugged and that can easily repaired. That's a very valuable engineering skill. I wish Detroit would do that with their cars sometimes :-).

The friends that the students made and the help given and received were all a tremendous part of the experience. One of our students even defected for a while to another team because the team only had 1 member and couldn't drive and run the hazzards and do the repairs required after every match all by himself.

That's the kind of competition it was where you compete seriously in the Battlebox but once outside it's all genuine and heartfelt cooperation.

Three cheers for Nola, Trey and Greg at Battlebots IQ!

Next year we will practice driving before the competition though.

Team 802 for FIRST
Team 38 for Battlebots IQ with the robot named "Deborah"
