Ideas for tranny's and gearboxes are thrown around all the time here.
Most of them are great. But.. I have one question for you.

What kind of resources do you have available to the team to make a gearbox/tranny??

Do you have a miller and a lathe? CNC? Just a hand drill and a sharpie??

The tools you have to make a tranny will depend on how you design it and what "stock" ones you look at here on CD.
