OK... its time to confirm the rumors:
Its all true! After spending ~89.4% of my life in Connecticut, I'm headed out. I'm fixin to move to North Carolina. Once UConn's Emeka Okafor picked Charlotte, I said: "Self, follow Emeka!".... (just kidding)... I am headed down to take an awesome opportunity to head up Systems Engineering for a division of General Dynamics.
I've had an awesome 6.5 years at UTC, I've made tons of friends among all the great New England teams... I'll miss you guys... but we'll meet again... I mean: the New England Regional will still need a head ref next year...
And yes... I actually did negotiate that into my contract! And I am closer to Atlanta now...
Charlotte is an awesome place... lots of companies have their headquarters there... Wachovia Bank, Bank of American, Goodrich... but... they don't have any teams... I wonder if that will change now?
I'll be in Connecticut for another week and a half before I board the southbound train.
