If your looking for any info on using game controllers like the one you showed on there, I know that the Cedar Rapids, Iowa team 967 has used them.
--if your really ambitious...you could always make your own controllers!
..if you've ever looked into one of the flightsticks, it's just 2 potentiometers, and any extra buttons you would need.
