The Cradle of Aviation Museum is great! And if you go on a Friday afternoon, ask for Fred Meiners (a volunteer). He works for NGC and will give you a great tour of the place. I had the pleasure of working with him (I interned at NGC in Bethpage) and getting his grand tour. But the Long Island Museum of Science and Technology is one I have yet to visit...maybe the next time I'm on the Island.
