Re: Who is an Electrical Engineer?

All,

Judging by the time of year, and the fact that I've already gotten a "MechE Request"...

I'm pretty sure he's looking to interview you for his Project Lead the Way - "Principles of Engineering" course. As part of this course, you need to do a quick research report on a type of engineering, and interview a practicing engineer from this field.

I remember doing this project way back in the Fall of 1999 (Before I was involved in FIRST). It's really cool that PLTW students who use Chief Delphi or participate in FIRST have access to a large number of Engineers from various fields.

Another example of PLTW + FIRST = Awesome!

I think it's cool that I've gone from interviewer to interviewee.
(Even though I'm not a practicing MechE, and sent the person who asked me off to talk to some old fogey from Delphi who has been working as a MechE already.)

I urge ANY engineer who is asked, to participate!
This is a great way to directly show some kids more about what you do.

John
