Re: Stuffit Expander and MacHTTP
Thanks for the suggestion but I actually tried that one without any success before creating this thread. Fortunately, this morning (after searching until the end of the Internet) I found a .sea version of Stuffit Expander 4 on some obscure college server. It installed without a hitch. If anyone wants it let me know and I'll be glad to provide. Then I successfully unstuffed and installed MacHTTP 2.2 as well. It looks like I am all set. I was not able to reach the server by typing localhost (or 127.0.0.1) in the browser, but perhaps there is no link between them. Maybe I need an outside machine. Does anyone know? But both the browser and server appear to be runing fine, (at least as much as I can test without an Ethernet connection yet).
The next thing I am looking for is some sort of RAM enhancing software for the Classic. I found OptiMem (RAMCharger) for free but apparently it is a trial and I'm not sure how to make it keep working for longer. Are there any other shareware/freeware RAM optimizers available for the 68000 based Macs? Thanks.
