Really quick comments before I go to class…

You’re right. We’ve done such a great job in Afghanistan to date that only the Kabul area is actually controlled by Afghanistan’s “government.” Warlords control more than 90% of the country.

You can’t possibly believe that we have 123,000 mechanics in Iraq. Those troop counts came from rough estimates from the defense department. If you really want me to look up all the different numbers related to how many of which kinds of troops we have over there, I will, but I don’t have the time right now.

I’m not assuming that Osama is still in Afghanistan. I thought I made it pretty clear that I meant to say it would have been more likely for us to find Osama, probability-wise, if we had sent ~150,000 troops into Afghanistan (starting from the very beginning in 2001), instead of going into Iraq. That’s kind of related to this thread, probabilities. You’re right that many people believe Osama slipped into Pakistan, but we did have a chance at finding and capturing him in Afghanistan, at the very least, at Tora Bora, but he apparently slipped away.

I’ve got to go to class now. No time to edit...
