Do you have a DishNetwork PVR or a DirecTivo? If so, if you remove the hard drive and plug it into your computer, you can access the recordings. To convert them to a standard format, you will need an additional piece of software.

If it is a DishNetwork PVR, sign up for the DishRip Yahoo group and read through the files section. There are several pieces of software that can convert video from the DishPVR format to MPEG2

If it is a DirecTivo, download DVRchive, which will convert from TiVo format to MPEG2.
