This took me a bit to figure out and I'm blaming Amanda for making me think of it.

I went to high school with Steve Shade and, at nationals in 2000, he introduced me to Kate Leach. At Kate's house at kickoff in 2002 was Jess Boucher. Jess was at Kristen Kelso's house for kickoff in 2001 (as was I). At that kickoff, I talked to Nate Smith directly before I talked with Andy Baker (who recognized me from my photo). At nationals in 2003, Andy Baker introduced me to JVN.
