Re: What is your most loved and most hated video games of all time?

Favorites
Ghost Recon
Neverwinter Nights
Morrowind
Battlefield 1942
Deus Ex <-- The first one, not the console-corrupted sequel
Day of Defeat
Deathball mod for UT2k4 <-- Our old programmer from 253 is on the design team
Unreal Tournament series
Alpha Centauri <-- I was shocked to see this as most hated! This is the greatest turn based strategy game of all time except...
Combat Mission

Most Hated
Halo <--After Microsoft ruined it. The MP was mediocre at best, and the single player stands among some of the worst level design i have seen in years. Playing Halo is like playing something from approximately 8 years ago, with vastly improved graphics. The game design is so archaic, it's ridiculous.
Counter-Strike
FF Series <-- Or pretty much any console "RPG". What role playing is even remotely present in one of these games?
Starcraft obsession <-- Jeez people, it was good, but give it up.
Diablo obsession <--see above
Warcraft obsession <-- see above
Console games

Consoles don't bother me that much, but i find it ridiculous that low quality games can be released year after year on consoles while excellent games like Deus Ex or Ghost Recon go largely unnoticed on the PC. I don't see why being a console game is an excuse for sloppy level design, poor balancing, and horrible graphics. Seriously people, 90% of these console games that you're raving over are either knockoffs of superior PC franchises, or explicitly made as ports. The only thing that the consoles are doing better is sports games.
