numbers, not actual teams. The retired numbers are all the numbers not being used up to the new teams. This is because since 1999 or 2000, the teams have all been consecutively numbered. But a question I have is if a team wants to take a year off...to gain funds and what not, can they register the following year with their original team number or do they have to get a new number?
