Two of us were selected by our coach based on skill level/experience driving (I'd operated last year during OCCRA and my co-driver drove the 2004 Juggernaut robot) and on the amount of the time we spent working on the robot. Our coach keeps track of this time, so I guess that would be the requirement. Although we would like to practice, we're usually occupied with making changes and improvements to the robot... the most practice I've gotten this year has probably just been driving during Open House.
