Do this. Get a thin paper clip, or preferably a thin solid wire - do not use stranded wire. Look at the face of the 15 pin competition port on the operator interface so that you can see all the little holes. Bend the paper clip or wire such that you can insert both ends into holes. Insert one end into the top left hole of the connector. Insert the other end into the bottom row, 4th hole from the left. There should be 3 empty holes on left of the bottom row, and then your paper clip/wire inserted in the next one.
See attached pic and use red marked holes. Be very careful to not insert anything in the wrong holes. Also, do not use anything that is too big for the holes, it should go in easy.
