Ok... Just started modding my xbox, and I want to put a window in the lower lefthand portion of the "X". I also want to remove the top of the DVD-Drive so i am able to create this effect...

...The colors are off because I want it to be Chrome and possibly red. So here is my question... I have a Version 1.6 Xbox with a Samsung DVD-ROM DRIVE Model SDG-605. There is a circular plastic plate that is needed to keep the disc in place and I don't know if it can be removed from the metal casing. I know that you can do this with the Thompson DVD-ROM DRIVE, but I'm unsure if it will work with this one...
Second question... I am also planning on placing LEDs in the controller ports, under the "XBOX" Jewel, In the fan, and possible some cold cathodes underneath the system itself. If all of the LEDs are 4-pin Female connections, (omitting the Controller port LEDs
) then can i just plug it all into the back of my HDD? Also... Will heat be an issue? If so, where at?
