"Mentor Cloning a Qualified Success"
(CD) Researchers at DEKA corporation revealed the latest results of their ongoing experimentation with FIRST mentor cloning yesterday. Shown here in the incubator are the remaining eggs, with 1 mentor who has already hatched and 1 student who apparently hatched prematurely; several others appeared ready. "Our deadline was January 8th, 2005 so we're pretty pleased" said head researcher Dr. L. Ginclock. "Although they still appear somewhat disoriented, the behavior is somewhat expected since mentors don't like to leave the familiar surroundings of FIRST equipment. We have trouble getting real mentors to leave in between seasons also."
According to Dr. L. Ginclock, the mentors were cloned from the blood, sweat and tears of mentors from a previous chairman's award winning team, Buzz Robotics. "They retained the familiar bright yellow color, but some of the other attributes were apparently affected by the magic smoke and Lithium grease we mixed in." The first 2 clones appear to act more like a Sie-H2O-Bot mentor and student, Ginclock said. "It's still a Connecticut team, so we're not too far off."
