As mentioned earlier, the white papers on this site have some great gearboxes that combine the CIM and Drill motor. The trick is getting the drill motor down to a speed that is similar to the CIM motor. Usually, this is done with reducing the speed of the CIM about 3.6:1, as that is the ratio of the free speeds.
With a good CIM/Drill combo gearbox, you can drive your robot fairly fast with the power available. Many robots have used this setup and gone 11-13 feet/sec with ease.
