There's not a big difference in rigidity between white sch40 and grey. The PVC polymer is pretty much the same, except for pigments. 1-1/4 sch40 dimensions are: 1.660 OD 1.380 ID (.140 Wall) (from Carlon's datasheet). The 24 caps and lack of tee and elbow fittings makes me doubt that the conduit is used for a railing...
