The "servos" from the robovation kits are actually servo-motors, which means that they will rotate at a given speed instead of rotating to a given position. Since these are more powerful than standard servos, the fourth wire provides the extra power they need. I would either use them with the Robovation controller if you need to use them as motors, or use the two Hitec servos that came in the kit with the 2005 robot controller if you need them to work as servos.
