Re: Music - Punk

Punk music has changed so much over time... I like many of the newer bands but I also know my roots. I love The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, and The Dead Kennedys to name a few. I enjoy many of the bands previously mentioned and here are a few more to add: The Used, They Might Be Giants, Unwritten Law, and though many people don't think of them as punk R.E.M. If you decide to go searching for new music you should check out http://www.punkrock.org/ it is at least a reference point. I don't particularly care for the new pop-"punk" brigade that seems to keep growing mainly due to the fact that these bands aren't writing music in the spirit to which punk music was born.
Joseph, generally speaking punk music is an intelligent, and very politically driven form of music first popularized in the UK aimed at the monarchy there. It was adoptedby anarchists, thus being branded as an "outcast" form of music. If you want more info feel free to ask, but I will end the history lesson with that.
