First of all, on behalf of Chris and his family, I'd like to thank everyone for their concern about Chris' condition. Just to fill in the blanks on what happened, the impact of the fall was far greater than anyone could have imagined. Chris suffered 2 subdural haematomas, 2 skull fractures, and an epidural haematoma. Chris missed a good deal of school, but returned last week. The coming months will be important for his recovery, but it is good enjoying his company and sense of humor at school again.
It goes without saying that the evening of the accident, and the days that followed were trying times for those that care so much about Chris. It was so very gratifying to see the concern and support that came from our FIRST community. Seeing how the FIRST community reacted to Chris' accident reaffirmed my faith in FIRST, and made me prouder than ever to be a part of such a great mission. Here's Chris' e-mail if you'd like to send your wishes directly to him:

I happened to be in a very unique vantage point and saw the whole incident. By any chance, does anyone know who the kid was who dropped Chris? I would just like to get their perspective on what happened. Nonetheless, please take this incident as a very serious lesson. One of Chris' doctors told me that if the fall were 6" higher we would have been looking at a fatality. Please make a point of not partaking in crowd surfing, moshing, or rowdy behavior at team party's. If you see it going on, alert someone so that a tragic situation can be avoided!
Be well people. Good luck to those headed to Nationals!
