We're doing all we can to keep a tight lid on our robot design this year!
Actually we have a cabinet maker helping us out this year and he brought along his own clamps not knowing what we had at the school already. Most of the clamps on the crate are his.
The crate weighs MUCH less this year.................even with those 45# weights on it!
The weights are holding the center of the plywood down as the glue dries. The sides are made of wood (poplar) lattice work with rigid foam insulation (1" pink) filling the spaces. Yes, our crate will have an R value of 4!
The sides are then sheathed in 1/8" luann plywood. In this photo the plywood has just been glued to the sides.
