Actually Corvette's don't have a carbon/fiber frame. The Corvette safety cage (frame) is made from steel. Corvettes, and all new cars, have crumple zones that are designed to be compacted in a crash to absorb the energy, is this what you are referring to? Also the frame on a McLaren F1 is VERY structurally sound, and will not 'crack like eggshells'
