We then drove a small flat head screw driver between the (now empty) clip to widen it a little bit. Then we crimped the clip (more of squeezed it with a pair of pliers) and soldered the wire to the connector. Then just push the connector back in and you'll feel it pop in. Now just do the same thing with the other side and you're done.
