Re: Shipping crate (how to build?)

Crate questions:

1) Does a typical crate really need to be made out of 1/2" full plywood sheets?

2) Can a crate be made of 1/4" luan plywood that is bounded by 1x3 strips on all edges?

3) Is there anything special you do to your crate to make it serve "double duty" at the event(s) such as a table, display, etc?

4) The bottom is a forklift skid. Instead of using 4"x4" runners, has anyone simply taken a standard wood/plastic pallet and used that as their "base" of the shipping crate?
