Extent on Defensive Game

My team was going over some strategies and we realized that we should be able to play both a defensive and an offensive game. We also realized that there were some rules that marked the limit on just how offensive or how defensive we could play. We were wondering for a more defensive game, because I also do know that if you attempt to remove an opponent's tetra from the goal and it is on the goal correctly, you will be deducted 10 points...But I was wondering, what if you had stopped the opponent from putting a tetra on by actually taking their tetra and placing it on the ground??? I do not recall reading anything on this, but would this go under actually being illegal? I just wish to clarify about this because I do not recall reading anything about this.
