Re: which program do you download your files with?

I would ask that it be clarified precisely what you are asking these programs to be used for. If it is shareware, please simply state it and it'll be the end of that. While I agree there are legal files, I rarely see a thread posted in that context.

If I need to download a file, for example a document that I upload from the lab to read over again at home, or something that my lab people upload, it is generally uploaded onto a website server and I'm given a URL to use to access it.

Bittorrent is convenient for many files that are in fact quite legal, i.e., large applications that may be simply less expensive to load over that sort of system. However, even for legal files, Kazaa and others are tricky programs to consider because from what I can say, most of the file audience to that program is quite illegal.
