Just saw this thread. I've been kind of busy with the Chatsworth Scrimmage and building a robot. But now that I'm back at work and can relax...
I can help out with the Inventor judging.
Eugenia's point is well taken. Judges are best found locally. Corporate executives make good judges because they can help sponsor events and they are used to seeing through the BS. It could just be that FIRST was unable to find enough qualified judges in Israel who were willing to take the time for this. It can be hard enough here in the US, and we live here. Trying to do so remotely, even through the local regional committee would be much harder. I suspect that when it came down to it, they just ran out of resources.
