Israel Regional awards NOT cancelled!

All -

If you have been concerned about the statements in this thread or this thread, please calm down. I have spoken with the FIRST Israel Regional Director, and the various awards have NOT been cancelled. The web site, animation, Inventor and other award submisisons will be judged and evaluated as planned. There was a miscommunication, and someone that did not have accurate information passed this alarming - and thankfully false - message to the Israel teams.

To all the Israel teams: if you have any questions at all about this, please contact the FIRST Israel Regional Director, Alisha Wallenstein, at first_israel@yahoo.com. Everyone else, your efforts and concerns are most appreciated, but we can all stand down.

I must say that I am very encouraged by the reaction when this issue appeared. In addition to the messages of concern and sympathy for the (potentially) affected teams, I saw a very supportive response. Having teams stand up for the affected teams and rally together to create an award process to recognize the efforts of the Israel teams when the official award structure was threatened is commendable. That is the sort of team-to-team support that we like to see.
