Yes the arm is a beast and a half... It's run with just one atwood and 1 van door motor with it's own braking system to give it some better control. Just think of a shimano or SRam mountain bike disc brake on steroids.

This year's design was a paradign shift for our team since we've never had a functional robot built ever in the first 1.5 weeks and also have 2 robots completed in a season. With the fore mentioned budget cuts we were going for cheap, strong and easy to replace.
