I agree.

Our team is not using the Mabuchi motor (as of yet anyways...).

However, there could be valid applications for the Mabuchi motors - for tasks that demand little power, such as releasing latching devices. It could be used in a similar manner as a servo might. I bet there are teams who have come up with some interesting uses for the Mabuchi, and I too am curious to hear about them.
