Shouldn't be hard at all, just cut open the wire and splice the wires onto a joystick cable (or for some of us,
not cut /anything/ 
), you would probably want to set them all up as digital inputs though (And then you could have a joystick hooked up too for axes).
Too bad that it might be a bit too large to fit the rules
