Its good to see FIRST getting publicity, but news reports aren't always accurate. For one thing, they think that there are only two individual awards. There are really around ten or twenty. Single eliminations? It's best 2 out of 3.
It really gets bad if the reporter has ten qual rounds, but the robot is in 17.
After Sacramento, the Sacramento Bee had an article about the competition. It said things about "wire pyramids". I can see the pyramids part- tetras are three-sided pyramids- but WIRE?? The tetras are too thick to be wire without weighing a ton.
Like I say, good that FIRST gets publicity, but if a team gets interviewed, they need to give the reporter accurate info-which 1595 seems to have done- and make sure the reporter know what they are talking about.
