The
Dictionary of Boyceisms is a list of the more colorful expressions of our head mentor, many of which have rubbed off on us. The two we use most frequently are "buttah" (lubricant) and "caddywampus" (skewed, like the 2004 Friarbot).
Incidentally, to some mentors that haven't worked with FIRST Robotics previously, even "Victor" and "Spike" are considered to be lingo. We had to explain to a new mentor this year that when documenting our work, "Victor" was a lot more useful than "Speed Controller".
