Well, the regular season is over and so far ‘the impossible’ has proven itself worthy of the name. To date, no team has successfully capped the center goal with a vision tetra during the autonomous period. This means two things: 1) No one has laid claim to the coveted TIKI graciously put up for grabs by Team 25 (
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=35927 ); and 2) No one has shown that they will definitely be the recipient of a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts in Atlanta.
I am hereby upping my offer.
To the first four teams that:
“Cap the center goal with a vision tetra during the autonomous period of a qualifying or elimination round at Nationals,”
I will personally deliver two boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
I know it a box of Krispy Kremes isn’t quite as good as a TIKI, but hey, they’re easier to digest.
If only one team manages to do the impossible, or if a team manages to accomplish it more than once, they might end up with a few extra boxes of Krispy Kremes.
If you are on a team that is both:
1) Attending nationals; and
2) Of the belief that you have a shot at capping the center goal with a vision tetra in autonomous mode during the competition;
Please post your team’s name/number. I’ll be making the rounds on Thursday, checking out robots, and finding out when each team will be taking their shots at glory. I’d like to make sure that if ‘the impossible’ does occur, I am there to witness it.

Note: Originally, my offer stood at one box of Krispy Kremes to the programmers of the robots that performed the feat. However, after a full season of regional competitions, it is apparent that every part of the robot, not just the programming aspect, must work perfectly in order to achieve the task. In this light, it seems appropriate that the entire build/programming team should get a celebratory doughnut. Good luck to all!
