I had no idea what I wanted to do after high school while I was still there. I did know that I did not want to take Calculus. So I went to a local community college and putzed around, worked, school, FIRST. Then I took some EMS classes and got my EMT-B. Volunteered at Sterling Rescue and I loved it, but wanted to know more. I'm currently in search of a nursing school to attend, get my BSN, then spend some time with the Navy or Air Force as a peds emergency nurse.
I am having a difficult time of it though. While putzing around at NVCC, I didn't really care, and my GPA suffered greatly because of that. Nursing school is getting tougher and tougher to get into, and a GPA is really hard to raise once you blow it. Lessons learned.
