We gave away "battery flags" to anyone who would take them. We thought they would be very helpful to other teams. In retrospect we probably should have had a poster or instruction sheets or something explaining clearly what they were and how to use them.

"What they were" is a small yellow flat bit of plastic that fits into a standard battery connector.

"How to use them" is easy: fit them on a freshly-charged battery's connector to indicate that the battery is charged. In order to plug the battery into a robot, you'll have to remove the flag, of course.

This works very well to keep from being confused about which batteries are charged and which are used. You can't forget to pull the flag off a battery when you use it.
