also, you need a TV that supports 720p 1080i resolution to take full advantage of the graphics. Im willing to bet a significant number of potential owners don't, and aren't willing to shell out for a TV and Xbox for their kid's Christmas gift.
Also, the technology in the console is what is available at the time of starting the project, in a pc you can update and improve whenever...
Also the main bottleneck is actually the speed of the hard drive in many cases.....
