Last year I don't think they released dates until after the kick-off but heres how I'm pretty sure it works:
  • Kick-off is on the first Saturday of January unless it is too close to new years day, then it is the second Saturday
  • National competition is usually exactly 3 months after that, say the kick-off is January 6th the competition is April 4-6th.
That's just my guess looking at the dates for the previous 3 years

BTW, according to that it looks like the kick-off will be January 5th and the National competition will be April 3-5th
